Afghanistan Central Business Registry in the city of Kandahar opens on March 20, 2010 MOCI with funding from USAID, collaboration and technical support from EGGI opened Afghanistan Central Business Registry office in the city of Kandahar on March 20, 2010. ACBR manager Faridullah Habib told reporters “Now Kandahar and surrounding provinces business owners are able to register their businesses faster, cheaper, and easier. This process that used to take several days has been reduced to few hours and has resulted in greater transparency, reduced corruption, and increased efficiency.” This office will also process registration of traders and investors from Kandahar, Helmand, Nimroz, Oruzgan and Zabul. Head of Afghanistan Investment Support Agency (AISA) welcomed the opening of this office in Kandahar and said that AISA is pleased to see that cooperation between government and private sector has resulted in the elimination of excessive and unnecessary impediments to business activity. 
The business registration process in the city of Kandahar involves the registration of businesses, obtaining TIN, paying one fee to DAB and getting a referral letter to any licensing agency for a low flat fee of 500 Afs in a short period of time. This office certainly helps and encourages businesses to enter the formal economy and the computerized system enables the office to conduct business analysis.
