Licensing of a Foreign Business:
The ACBR registration process and fees for foreign businesses are the same as domestic businesses. However, licensing steps may vary for foreign-owned businesses. The supporting documentation for obtaining the license required by the Trader License office located in the MoCI is listed below. Those foreign investors or companies dealing with investment-related sectors including services, consulting, logistics, transport can obtain the information from AISA (Afghanistan Investment Supporting Agency) Website: www.aisa.gov.af. If a foreign national seeks trader license the following documents are needed:
Criminal background check. Bank guarantee. Copy of passport from country of citizenship with valid visa. 4 color pictures of the president, vice president and their representative. Article of Incorporation if applicable. Power of attorney if necessary. All these documents need to be notarized and also attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of their country and Afghan Embassy or Consulate. A referral letter will be issued to the Trade, Transit and Investment Directorate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan.
